DAY 3 - A Week In Nana's Closet

My husband threw a monkey wrench in my plans for the day by staying home.  so, my normal, get-up-and-go routine,m turned into get up and be quiet so that the police officer that didn't get home until 2:00a.m. can sleep.  It's about 30 degrees here in Texas this morning, but I don't have any reason to be going outdoors.  However, Ken sleeps better when the house is cool, so I decided to dress where my arms were freed up to do some work, but I had added warmth around my body.

The answer was my jeans, a white long sleeved tee and a thick knit vest and a scarf.  Pretty easy.  I have worn this all day long and I still can't decide if I actually like the look.  It is practical for around the house and it is warm...all of which are things I needed for today.  I don't usually do long things on top unless it is a longer sweater that opens all of the way down the front or a longer duster that opens all of the way down the front.  I like to keep my legs showing and not block them off with the likes of a tunic.  Tunics just make my legs look so short and being 5'4", I try and not cut my body off like that.  If something is longer, but open down the front so that my whole leg shows, it usually doesn't have that shortening effect.  The verdict on this long vest is just not in yet.  I may have to experiment with it.

With keeping the house a little cooler, I put on socks and boots and have stayed pretty comfortable.  I ventured out for a few errands and since I was just going from the car to a warm building, this has been fine for me all day. The jeans are the same jean as I wore a couple of days ago in the blush pink.  The ankle kiss by Jessica Simpson.  I love the color blue this is.  This is a recent purchase from Belk. The long sleeve white tee is by Liz Claiborn from J.C. Penney.  The long vest is a tuxedo collared vest by Sophie Max from Belk (on sale now for about 40% off and comes in black and winter white).  the boots are a few years old from J.C. Penney.  And this scarf was a deal I picked up at (of all places) Walgreen.  I have found some of the prettiest scarves there.

I'm looking at these pictures and laughing.  I nearly always have a pair of sunglasses on my head, because when I get outdoors, I don't want to be squinting.  I took these pictures before I ran out to do some errands.  Beauty Tip...wear sunglasses to protect your eyes and to help prevent wrinkles around your eyes.  So...there you have it.

That is my day for now.  I will see you tomorrow.  My sweet and handsome man will be at home again tomorrow, so I am not sure how my daily routine will change.  We will just have to play it by ear and see.  Until then......

Blessings to all of you,

Cathy Budjenska
