Black Leather Skirt

WHAT A GREAT FIND

I am so glad that here in Texas, we are finally getting some cool weather.  This week we had our new Hot Tub installed...Hot Tubs are no fun in 90 to 100 degree weather, but now that it is getting colder, that will be nice.  Another thing that is not so great in hot weather is leather, so this morning when it was in the lower 40s, I went to the closet to pull out my latest Great Find.

I don't know about you all, but until recently, I had never been on the website: ThredUP.  It is an online thrift shop.  I have been shopping for a great leather pencil skirt for quite some time.  I just didn't want to pay $250 or more for it.  My first time on ThredUP, i found a great leather pencil skirt in "new" condition.  NEW CONDITION....It had never been worn!  I found a skirt that retailed for >$250 at a list price of $60.  Since this was going to be my first purchase, I got a 50% discount.  Ok...Now my $250+ skirt was going to cost me $30 and I got free shipping.  Wow...What A Deal!

I was so excited when it was delivered to my doorstep.  It fit perfectly.  Quite a sexy little number.  It zipped up the back, had an inside closure and an outside button, a nice slit up the front of the left leg and was just the perfect length.  I was so happy.  One problem...because I live in Texas it was autumn but still 100 degrees outside.  But today, I get to wear my new leather skirt.

But, Today It Is Starting To Get Cold!  Using my Pattern, Texture, and Shine recipe for dressing success...this is what I did.  The leather has a nice sheen to it, so to it I added some tights with small black crystals on them (great little nubby texture and shine).  I topped it with a white mock turtle neck sleeveless shell (from Nordstrom's) and added a green, gray, black and white floral button up cardigan(Target).  And because it was a little cold for me...for the outdoors, I added a long black cardigan with a curly wool collar.  I have had this piece for quite a while and just don't remember where I purchased it.  It has nice texture.  And I love my little black multi textured booties form Payless.

It seems as if I am always "cold", so I love wearing cold weather clothing.  I love bundling up.  I love sweaters, jackets, scarves, tights, so...I am thankful that Texas is finally cooling down!!!

I am really glad that someone told me about ThredUP.  I have found some really sweet deals there.  I bought a pair of Sam Edelman shoes that retailed for over $150 and paid $22.  And I don't think that they had ever been worn.  There was absolutely NO sign of use on the bottom of the shoe.  I love that!   I have a new black skirt and a new tan skirt both with fringe that this shoe will look awesome with!  Can't wait to wear them.

Thanks for joining me today.  It's Sunday, which means we have been to church and out to lunch, and now we are going to put our feet up for a while.  I love this time of the year.  Christmas trees are up and lights are shining brightly around our neighborhood.  This is the time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for Him...my cup runneth over.

Blessing to all of you,

Cathy Budjenska
