If you have been reading my posts, you are finding out a little bit about me.  I am a "neutrals" kind of gal.  I like black! I love blue jeans and I own way too many white tops (blouses, t-shirts, sweaters - WHITE).  I don't usually do bright colors.  Maybe because they draw a lot of attention to them and if they are on me then that would draw more attention to me!  I don't know, but bright colors have not generally been my thing.  However, when I started this, I said that I was going to venture out of my comfortable place.

Thus...A Little Holiday Glam!

I have a few holiday parties this season, and I under normal circumstances I would wear black.  Black Satin, Black Velvet...Black!  I threw myself for a loop this year and decided to do a swan dive out of my "neutral" box.  And it came out looking like "Hot Pink"  Wow!!  There is absolutely not one thing in my closet that is bright hot pink.  And, I DO NOT DO "FLOWY"  That was until Badgley Mischka came along.

This hot pink number is from Badgley Mischka and I purchased it from Dillards.  It is asymmetrical chiffon over a double layer satin and chiffon tank.  Wow, my wedding dress didn't have this much chiffon.

After making the decision to change it up, this is what I came up with.   From my last post, you will remember I like Pattern, Texture and Shine.  I put that into effect here.

So with this flowing number I added some skinny silver leggings by Jules ad Leopold that I found at Steinmart.  You'll notice they have a cool Pattern and great Texture.  I thought they were really cool and different. They look really nice with a black sweater, and I also have a glimmery silver T-shirt that goes nicely with these.  So hopefully I will find more use for them down the road.

The shoes are from Payless...part of my buy one - get on 1/2 price finds.  I like that they also have shine and texture.  I think it gives them a little more personality.  I try to choose shoes based on "how" I will be wearing them.  If I think I will be standing a lot I choose a shorter heel for comfort sake.  I like higher heels, because I am only 5'4" tall and can use the height, but sore feet are no fun, so sometimes shorter heels make more sense.  I used to have a pair of boots that I only wore to church where I was going to be sitting, because I realized that when I had them on, I was standing only on my big toe!  Whew!

And SHINE!  I bought my necklace and earring set 7 or 8 years ago, when I was invited to Toby Keith's birthday party...the theme was denim and diamonds.  Guess what I wore with them...You got it - blue jeans, boots and a white dress shirt! HaHa!

The picture on left is a close-up of the texture and pattern on the pants and the HOT pink blouse.

I am a Christmas time baby and I love the Christmas Holidays.  My home is all dressed up for Christmas, I decided that I should be too.

Whew! I guess I am ready for the party season.  My friends won't recognize me.  I am a far cry from neutral, black or denim wearing gal that they know so well.  But I guess everyone needs some change every now and then...especially at Christmas!

I pray blessings on all of you during this holiday season.  If you are traveling...Be safe.  And remember that Jesus Is The Reason For The Season!

Blessings to all of you!

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.                                                                                                                       Luke 2:11-14
