Something a Little Different for your Face
Acne Control...Wash Your Skin To Beautiful
Since I have started this page, I find myself making a lot of notes as I go through my daily routines. I am trying to make notes of things that I do that are different than what most others do. I am trying to notate things that make a difference in my style, in my health, in my SKIN. These are some of the tips that I want to share with you.
Today, like I have many times before I started out my day washing my face...pretty normal, right? Yeah...kinda' - sorta' (in case you don't know, that's a "Southern" phrase). Very rarely do I wash y face with any soap or anything that lathers. I usually take my make-up off with jojoba oil, then wash my face with oat flakes that I grind up in a food grinder with some coconut sugar ground up with it. It does't break down the acid mantle of your skin and lets your body's own bacteria work for you. From time to time I will have a break out that i use something different on.
If I have a problems with a break out... I turn to a shampoo. I found something over-the-counter that I started using on my face if it starts giving me problems with break-outs. That is pretty rare now. I wanted something over-the-counter, I didn't want to go to the dermatologist if I didn't need to. I also know that Salicylic acid, which is derived from White Willow, works to prevent skin lesions, clogged pores and works like an antibiotic to limit the growth of bacteria on the skin causing the cells of the epidermis to shed more readily, opening clogged pores and neutralizing bacteria within, preventing pores from clogging up again and allowing room for new cell growth.
In the store, there are loads of products that are made for acne, acne prone skin, and even mild skin eruptions. A lot of them contain Salicylic acid. Most of these products contain 1% Salicylic acid. So...what do I use that is "different"?
I use A SHAMPOO.
After reading countless labels, I left the store one day with Selsun Blue Naturals...extra hydrating formula. I chose this, to use on my face, because it contained 3% Salicylic acid, but it also contained moisturizers, botanicals, Vitamin E and Pantothenic Acid (B5). I used to buy liquid pantothenic acid alone to put in my shampoos and Conditioners. Knowing that this product had the highest concentration of Salicylic acid in an over-the-counter product, I wanted to be careful that it didn't irritate my skin or cause any over drying, so I only used it a couple of times a week. I worked so well that, for a while I continued to wash my face a couple of times a week with Selsun Blue Naturals...shampoo. I don't have a problem with skin break outs any more. :)
So, There you have it...something I do that is just a little different...a little tweak in my routine that others probably don't do. It works well for me. I hope if you try it that it will work equally as well for you!
Blessings to you all,
